SCHOOL PROGRAMS
At WOW Foundation, we run engaging, evidence-based surf programs designed to support students’ mental health, resilience, and wellbeing. Our programs provide a safe, supportive environment where students can connect with their peers, learn new skills, and gain confidence both in and out of the water.

What Happens During
a WOW Session?
Each WOW school session is designed to ensure students feel safe, supported, and empowered, regardless of their surfing experience or current wellbeing.
Our programs combine structured mental health education with movement and beginner surf skills, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students can build confidence, resilience, and wellbeing at their own pace.
Arrival and Welcome
Students are welcomed at the designated meeting point, where our team assists with surfboard and wetsuit fitting and facilitates group introductions. Our priority is to ensure every student feels comfortable, included, and supported before engaging in the session.
Group Session
Each session begins on the sand with a guided discussion led by our qualified mental health facilitators. Every week focuses on a specific wellbeing theme, providing students with practical strategies, tools, and a safe, supportive space to connect and share at a level they feel comfortable with.
Learn-to-Surf
Following the group discussion, students take part in beginner-friendly learn-to-surf sessions. Surfing supports emotional regulation, confidence-building, and the practical application of coping strategies introduced during the session. Our facilitators remain closely engaged throughout, providing additional support and guidance as needed in a calm, supportive environment.
